24 Barwani pilgrims stranded in Amarnath shifted to safer location

The number of total pilgrims who left for the holy Amarnath Cave shrine from Barwani is 150; they left in three batches.

Barwani (Madhya Pradesh): Following the destructive cloudburst near the holy cave shrine of Amarnath, the yatra was temporarily suspended on Friday evening. As many as 24 pilgrims from Barwani got stranded during the Amarnath floods and they were later rescued and taken to Panchtarani.

The number of total pilgrims who left for the holy Amarnath Cave shrine from Barwani is 150; they left in three batches. As many as 24 pilgrims (part of the last batch) got stranded in Amarnath floods. Now, they have been rescued and taken to safer locations at Panchtarani located 16 km away from the Amarnath shrine.

Pilgrim councillor Mithun Yadav said that the first batch of 90 pilgrims left for the Holy Shrine on 28 June, the second batch of 35 pilgrims left on 3 July was third and the last batch of 25 pilgrims left for Amarnath on July 6 from Barwani. A total of 24 pilgrims (last batch members) were stranded when a flash flood occurred following a cloudburst, now they have been rescued.

Security forces have launched a massive rescue operation to rescue stranded pilgrims following a cloudburst near the holy Shrine. Notably, several people were killed and others were missing following a flash flood triggered by a cloudburst near the cave shrine of Amarnath on Friday.
