Kolkata: In keeping with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s advice, the West Bengal Board of Higher Secondary Education (WBBHSE) on Friday announced the criteria board exam results of Class 10 and Class 12.
Addressing the press conference Kalyanmoy Ganguly of West Bengal Higher Education Board said that for class 10, 50 percent of class 9 marks along with 50 percent of class 10 internal assessment marks will give the final result for Madhyamik.
For class 12, the board have decided that 40 percent will be assessed from a maximum number of 4 subjects in Class 10 board examination along with 60 percent will be assessed from class 11 theory results and class 12’s practical or project works.
“If any students who will not be satisfied with the assessments result then once the situation is conducive for holding physical examination the students can appear for the examination and that result of physical examination in such cases will be considered final,” claimed Kalyanmoy also adding that they will adopt 50-50 formula for assessing both Madhyamik and Higher Secondary examination.
The Board also instructed the Principals of school to submit the results of their internal assessment to West Bengal Higher Secondary board by June 23 so that they can check the necessary details and bring out the final results in July.
Welcoming the criteria, educationist Dipankar Mitra said that the provision of physical examination after the situation is normalized is a great decision by the board.
