West Bengal: TMC MP Abu Taher Khan's car mows down child in Murshidabad

A six-year-old boy identified as Hasim Sarkar allegedly died after TMC MP Abu Taher Khan’s car hit him in Noada area in Murshidabad on Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the child along with his mother who is a self-help group worker went to deposit money in a bank and the child came out on the road while his mother was busy depositing money.

The TMC Murshidabad MP said that the child was running on the road when his car was passing from that lane.

“The child’s mother was not with him. Soon after the fatal accident, I came out of my car and took the child in my car and admitted him to Behrampore Medical College. It is a sad incident and whatever can be done for the family of the dead boy will be done by my party,” said Khan.

According to the doctors of the Medical College, the child sustained several injuries on his leg and especially his head which proved fatal and also that despite giving the best treatment they could not save the child.
