While the tiff between Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal is no strange to anyone, the ruling party TMC performed a strange ritual to welcome workers from BJP.
In a video shared, the Trinamool Congress' local leaders in Ilambazar block of Birbhum performed a purification ritual on the TMC workers after leaving the BJP. The TMC worker sprayed sanitiser on the workers as the two parties have indulged in many verbal spats over the post poll violence.
Ever since the pandemic outbreak, sanitisation has been one of the important activity to avoid spread of Covid-19 virus. The TMC adapted the similar step as the workers returned from the opposition party which has been in tussle with the Mamata Banerjee govt since the assembly elections.
In latest political update, the ruling Trinamool Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party have clashed over the nomination filing of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairman post in West Bengal Assembly.
With TMC leader Mukul Roy filing his nomination for the post, Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari who had also filed his nomination demanded immediate disqualification of the MLA post of Mukul Roy as he had won from BJP’s symbol.
Along with Suvendu a total of six BJP MLAs have filed their nomination for the post and BJP demanded that if anyone from BJP is not selected for this post then the saffron camp will boycott all the committees in West Bengal Assembly.
“We want Ashok Lahiri to become the chairman of PAC. Even if he is not made then someone from the BJP should be made the chairman of PAC or else the BJP will boycott all the committees in the House,” mentioned Suvendu.
Meanwhile, slamming the BJP, TMC MLA Tapas Roy stated that the absolute discretion is on the Speaker and also that the Speaker will decide what is right.
