Uttar Pradesh Health Department is gearing up to provide medical test reports directly to patient's mobile devices, eliminating the need for physical collection. This new system, currently being rolled out across the state, will deliver reports via SMS, WhatsApp, and the Personal Health Record (PHR) portal. This facility is already active in Lucknow hospitals.

To implement this, Hospital Management Information Systems (HMIS) in all district hospitals and community health centers are being integrated with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). Under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, patient test results will be directly accessible on their PHR portal or mobile app.

Once a report is ready, an SMS alert will be sent to the patient's registered mobile number, including a link to view and download the results. According to Ritu Maheshwari, Secretary of the Health Department, reports for admitted patients will also be directly transmitted to their doctors through the Hospital Information System. This initiative aims to significantly improve patient convenience and streamline healthcare services across Uttar Pradesh.
