In a concerning incident at Varanasi's Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a female devotee fell into the sacred "Argha" (sacred vessel) while attempting to touch the deity during darshan. A video of the incident, which has now gone viral on social media, shows the woman first paying her respects before suddenly reaching out to touch Lord Vishwanath.

During this attempt, she lost her balance and fell into the temple's sanctum sanctorum.

According to a NDTV report, the incident took place around 11 am on Thursday.

This is not an isolated incident at the temple. A similar incident was reported in October last year, which had prompted administrative action.

In response to the previous incident, authorities had taken strict disciplinary measures, including the suspension of one sub-inspector, one constable, and three female police officers for negligence in duty.

The recurring nature of such incidents raises questions about the safety measures and crowd management protocols at one of the most revered temples in the country. The temple authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding this latest incident.
