There must be ‘Sabka Nyay’: Narendra Modi

New Delhi: Prime minister Narendra Modi on Monday said there must be ‘Sabka Nyay’ (justice for all) along with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. “I believe in ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ and with that there must be ‘Sabka Nyay’,” Modi said while addressing legal fraternity on the Legal Service Day. On this occasion, he also said more and more people must know what Lok Adalats are about. Lok Adalat is a system of alternative dispute resolution developed in India. It roughly means “People’s court”. The Lok Adalats can deal with all civil cases, matrimonial disputes, land disputes, partition/property disputes, labour disputes etc., and compoundable criminal cases. “Along with legal awareness, there must be institutional awareness. People must know systems that are in place,” the prime minister said, adding: “Happy that discussions are being held on how poor will get justice. I have been able to learn a lot being here.”
