Kolkata: Kolkata police on Saturday issued a ‘look out’ notice against suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma for her comment on Prophet Muhammad.

It can be noted that Narkeldanga police station had asked Nupur to be present on June 20 and Amherst Street police station asked her to be present on June 25 but she didn’t appear before the police stations stating risk on her life and sought more time, for which a ‘look out’ notice is issued against her.

Severe violence was seen across the country including Bengal after the people protested and blocked railways due to Nupur’s religious comment.

Slamming the BJP, TMC state general secretary and spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that BJP spreads ‘violence’.

“Police have taken proper steps as BJP spreads violence and common people suffer due to it. The police have taken proper steps and will do the needful,” said Ghosh.

However, the Supreme Court on Friday said that suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma for igniting the country and damaging the social fabric with her allegedly blasphemous comments.

The comment of Nupur also led to the killing of a tailor in Rajasthan’s Udaipur. Two men dressed as customers entered the tailor shop and beheaded him and also posted the video on social media.

However, police have taken the culprits into custody.

TMC national secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Saturday took to Twitter and slammed BJP for the Udaipur killing and also posted pictures showing the culprit with BJP leaders.

“NO, they don’t want UNITY. No, they don’t want HARMONY. No, they don’t want DEMOCRACY. THEY WANT TO DIVIDE THE NATION. Responsible for spewing hate, unleashing propaganda & divisive politics, @BJP4India is DIRECTLY LINKED to the GRUESOME #UdaipurHorror,” wrote Banerjee.
