Moderate tremor hits Bihar, North Bengal and Sikkim

New Delhi : A moderate tremor measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale shook various parts of Bihar, North Bengal and Sikkim on Thursday night.

According to reports, the earthquake, which struck the country at around 9.00 pm, had its epicenter in Nepal and contiguous areas of Bihar. The effects of the ten second quake were felt in the Patna, Darbhanga, Araria, Munger, Supual and Madhubani regions of the state.

A tremor was also felt in the northern parts of West Bengal, with the Darjeeling Hills and Jalpaiguri regions of the state affected, with Sikkim also affected.

No loss to property or person has been reported.
