The polling for the Lok Sabha elections concluded on May 19 and now people are eagerly waiting for the results. But the people have to always rely on news channels or websites but now Election Commission has launched an app in which one can check the live poll results.
Election Commission has released an app called Voter Helpline that will allow users to keep up with real-time trends and results from 8 am on May 23. Poll officials told the Hindustan Times, that among the features of the app will be one where the user can bookmark a candidate to be informed of their performance routinely. With the app, people will be able to keep pace with regular updates without depending on the returning officer’s updates.
The app was launched on May 12, is among a dozen such digital initiatives of the EC, which include round-wise updates on its website and huge interactive “auto-scrolling” panels. Through the app, users can look for their personal information in the electoral roll, submit online forms and check the status, file for complaints, get information on the elections, results and more.
Some of the features of the mobile app are that a voter through EPIC number can get all personal information related to the election. The EPIC number is a unique number given to every Indian voter above the age of 18 years by the Commission. A voter can apply for making registration in voter list and can apply for making new voter ID, through and also see his or her name in the voter list. The app is available on both Android and iOS devices.
