Jharkhand polls: Former CM Koda loses from Majhganon constituency

New Delhi : Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda, who has been chargesheeted by the CBI in connection with the coal blocks allocation scam, on Tuesday lost from the Majhganon assembly constituency in Jharkhand.

He was defeated by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Niral Purty.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren (JMM -Dumka and Barhait seats) and former chief ministers Arjun Munda (BJP-Kharsawan), Madhu Koda (Jai Bharat Samanta Party-Majhgaon) and Babulal Marandi (Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Dhanwar-Giridih) are among the total 1,136 candidates, including 111 women, who contested the polls.

As per latest trends, the BJP is all set to form the government in Jharkhand as it is leading in 37 seats foolwed by the JMM which is ahead in 22 seats.
