Kolkata : BJP secretary Siddharth Nath Singh who was optimistic about the chances of his party to form government in West Bengal said on Tuesday that in 2016 assembly elections, the people would call “bhag Mamata bhag” (Mamata Banerjee go away).

He said this while addressing a week long party programme organised by the state BJP against corruption in West Bengal, in Esplanade.

As part of the programme, the BJP had organised a rally from College Square to Esplanade which was attended by a large number of party supporters. Party leaders, including Siddharth Nath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Rahul Sinha, party MLA Samik Bhattacharjee and others took part in the rally.

However, Siddharth Nath Singh said that though he knows that if Mamata Banerjee comes to know about his comment, she would be angry.

But it was immediately after Singh had said “Bhag Madan Bhag,” the West Bengal Transport and Sports Minister Madan Mitra was arrested by the CBI.

The CBI had arrested Madan Mitra on charges of his alleged involvement in Saradha scam. He said that the new year is nearly nine days away.

He said in 2015 Trinamool Congress General Secretary and a close associate of Mamata Banejee, Mukul Roy would face the same experiences  hinting that  he would also be arrested for his alleged involvement in Saradha scam.

Criticising the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for keeping arrested minister Madan Mitra in hospital, Singh said that Madan should  immediately return to jail.

Criticising Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee for making derogatory comments about his grandfather former Prime Minister of the country Lal Bahadur Shastri, he said “He is making such comment in West Bengal and seeking apology in the Parliament.”

Speaking on the occasion, former BJP President and Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari said that his party had got absolute majority in the last Parliament election and formed the government at the Centre.  He said BJP would also get majority in West Bengal in 2016 assembly elections.

If the party comes to power in West Bengal BJP would work for the improvement of the state, he promised.
