New Delhi : The three convicts in the 2009 Jigisha Ghosh murder case had left a long trail of evidence that helped police nail them down.

After murdering the IT executive, Ravi Kapoor, Amit Shukla and Baljeet used her debit and credit cards for purchasing items like shoes, TV, goggles, watches at different shops where they were captured by CCTV cameras.

“There were a lot of evidences against the trio, including an eyewitness who saw them abducting the girl,” said a senior police officer, who was closely associated with the investigation.

Besides, the use of victim’s debit and credit cards in purchasing of items, they were also found to be possessing valuables of Jigisha.

In a footage, one of them was seen wearing the victim’s gold chain. Her zodiac sign rings of green and yellow sapphires were also found on them which were later identified by the victim’s parents, said the officer.    While shopping ‘carelessly’ with victim’s cards, they also put in signatures on purchase slips which were later verified with the help of writing experts. Some slips were found under the bed of Kapoor’s house.

The investigators also used mobile tower locations of the trio at crucial spots, such as place of abduction, dumping of her body and withdrawal of money using her cards from ATM booths, he added.
