Kolkata: Trinamool Congress on Wednesday alleged that there was a ‘nexus’ between BJP and CBI to malign the party and its chief Mamata Banerjee ahead of the Assembly by-polls in the state. “There is a nexus and a conspiracy which is going on to malign Trinamool Congress and our party supremo Mamata Banerjee, who is the most honest leader of the country, before the by-polls,” prominent TMC leader Partha Chatterjee said.
If they are taking about chit fund then we also need an answer to the question about where the huge money that was spent during the BJP’s election campaign came from,” he said. He said measures should be taken to return the money of all the duped investors who lost their money in various chit funds from 1980s. Chatterjee’s outburst came after state Congress president Adhir Chowdhury questioned the silence of TMC leadership.
