Good news for residents of Rajasthan, as the state government is currently working on a proposal which will provide horoscopes to all babies born in state-run and private hospitals. The horoscopes will also suggest a name for the babies on their Hindu astrological sign.
The Congress party, in 2018 assembly elections, had promised to promote Sanskrit education and the Sanskrit language and set up Vedic rituals and education board. The proposal of providing horoscopes to all babies born in state-run and private hospitals is part of an effort to fulfill that promise, said report. According to Hindustan Times, in the first phase of the plan, the scheme will be rolled out in five government hospitals in Jaipur where the newborns will be given horoscopes free of cost. In the second phase, government hospitals will charge Rs 51, and private hospitals, Rs 101, for each horoscope.
The meeting for the same proposal was held on January 3. The scheme may be called Rajiv Gandhi Janmapatri-Namkaran Yojana, said the leading daily report. According to the proposal, the scheme will help promote Sanskrit and Vedic knowledge and which will provide employment to around 3,000 astrologers. The proposal also stated that the astrologers should have a degree or diploma in astrology and will get a licence from the Rajasthan government. The astrologers will be paid Rs 40 in government hospitals and Rs 80 in private hospitals for every horoscope.
