Filmmaker Karan Johar on Thursday announced the release date of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani's much-awaited film 'Shershaah'.
The makers also shared an intriguing teaser of the film on social media.
The film that has been the talk of the town for the past two years is finally slated to release ahead of Independence Day 2021 on Amazon Prime Video on August 12.
Starring Sidharth as Kargil War hero Captain Vikram Batra, the film showcases how he fought for his nation during the Kargil War. Not just this, the story digs deep into his life with his ladylove Dimple Cheema and his family.
The teaser gives us a glimpse of real footage from the Kargil War and the opinions of Batra’s peers on their captain.
Towards the end of the teaser, Sidharth as Captain Batra can be seen in action on the battlefield.

Sharing the teaser with the announcement of the release date on social media, Sidharth wrote, "Heroes live on through their stories. We are honoured to bring to you the true story of the Kargil War hero, Captain Vikram Batra (PVC). A film with a long journey for me and a real life character I am proud to play."
Shershaah is produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions and Shabbir Boxwala production and directed by Vishnuvardhan.
