Actor Vikrant Massey shocked fans after announcing his retirement from acting at 37. However, he later clarified that his post was misunderstood, explaining that he is not retiring from the film industry but will be taking "some time off." Now, Massey reacted to confusion over his retirement post, stating that he decided to take a break to focus on self-improvement.

Speaking at the Times Network India Economic Conclave, Vikrant said, "I wrote a lot of English in that post, and many people misunderstood it. That’s why I issued a clarification. I am not retiring; I am taking a necessary break to improve myself."

Vikrant stated that he took the decision after consulting with his wife, actress Sheetal Thakur. "As mentioned in that post, the last few years have been truly phenomenal. I probably reflect upon the year gone by with utmost humility and gratitude. I got much more than what I asked for. As an artiste, I have been working for the past 21 years professionally. But after 12th Fail, it has really been remarkable. Just to put things into context, I put out that post at midnight because I was not able to sleep," Vikrant added.

Vikrant stated that he wants to explore directing and producing, but currently, he is not willing to talk about it. The actor added, "Right now, I want to watch my son (Vardaan) grow, write more, and take care of my health. I haven’t slept for more than 4-5 hours for years, and I need to fix that."

Meanwhile, announcing his break, Vikrant took to his Instagram handle and wrote, "The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor."

"So coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between (red heart emoji). Forever indebted (red heart emoji)," the note read.
