Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0 is all set to hit the big screens this Friday. The anticipation among the audience to see two superstars on a celluloid is on another level. Ever since the film is getting closer to its release, the makers, as well as actors, have been unfolding a lot of behind the scenes stories to the masses. However, recent news about 2.0 is quite surprising for us. As per the director Shankar, Akshay Kumar was not the first choice to play the villain in the film. Notably, the director had approached The Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger to play the antagonist in Rajinikanth starrer.
Shankar said in the press conference, “We had thought of casting Arnold. We had talked and allotted dates also. But somehow things did not work out as the contracts of Hollywood and India are contradictory. So we thought of looking at a good cast from the Indian film industry.” The Robot director added, “Lyca (producers of 2.0) and Akshay were in talks for a remake of a film called ‘Kathi’ in Hindi. Everyone told me to consider Akshay and I also thought it would be nice. I narrated the story to him and he said yes.”
Meanwhile, 2.0 also stars Amy Jackson in a pivotal role. The film is a sequel of Enthiran aka Robot (2010) starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The new version of the film is made with high-quality VFX and is touted to be better than the previous version. 2.0 is releasing on November 29, 2018.
