Back in 2001, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, Kajol, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Jaya Bachchan received a positive response for its family drama. However, very few knew that Student of the Year 2 director Punit Malhotra made a cameo twice in the Karan Johar directorial.
Fast forward now and this 90s actor revealed in a radio interview that he had been in the said film. His first cameo is where he played the bowler during a cricket match, who gives a ‘deep stare’ at Hrithik Roshan’s character before bowling to him and shouts ‘Catch it’ after Hrithik strikes a boundary.
His second cameo is when hrithik arrives in London to look for his brother played by Shah Rukh. In the song Vande Mataram, Hrithik mistakes a man wearing similar clothes as Shah Rukh. That man however was once again Punit.
Student of the Year 2 stars Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria and will release on May 10 this year. Punit has previously directed films like Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and I Hate Luv Storys. SOTY 2 recently revealed two of its tracks- The Jawani Song and Mumbai Dilli Di Kudiyaan.
