In the IPL copyright case, actress Tamannaah Bhatia did not appear at the cyber police station on Monday. Her lawyer informed the cyber police that she is out for shooting and hence couldn't come today. However, the cyber police haven't yet provided a new date for questioning Tamannaah in the case.
Tamanna Bhatia is currently not in Mumbai, and for this reason, she will not be able to appear before the Maharashtra Cyber Cell for questioning in this case. She was summoned on April 25, and she was supposed to appear for questioning on Monday. Apart from her, rapper Badshah have also been questioned in this case. Not only this, Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt was also supposed to appear in this case, but since he was not present in India, he had asked for some time for his appearance.
The Fairplay app is a betting exchange platform through which betting is done on a large scale for entertainment. In 2023, streaming of some IPL matches was also done on this app, although it was not within the app's jurisdiction. However, Viacom18 incurred millions of rupees in losses by doing so, as it was the streaming sponsor for the 2023 season. This means Viacom18 had the rights to stream IPL matches. This was done between March 2023 and May 2023.
After this, Viacom18 filed a complaint with the Maharashtra Cyber Cell regarding digital copyright against the Fairplay app. Now, individuals surrounded by allegations are being called for questioning in this matter.
