Actress Swara Bhasker recently shared glimpses of her Holi celebrations with family on Instagram. The pictures featured Swara, her husband Fahad Ahmad, and their daughter Rabiya enjoying the festival of colors. While Swara and Rabiya had bright Holi hues on their faces, Fahad did not, as he was fasting for Ramazan.
However, the post soon attracted online trolls questioning why Fahad did not participate in the Holi celebrations. Some netizens took to the comments section to ask, "अरे पतिदेव ने रंग नहीं लगवाया? (Why didn’'t your husband apply colors?)" while another wrote, "Andh bhkt ka swal tumare husband ne rang kyu nhi lagaya (Blind devotee's question: Why didn’t your husband play Holi?)".
In response to the trolling, Swara took to her Instagram stories to re-share the pictures and wrote, "Happy Holi ya’ll! Gentle reminder: it’s possible to celebrate our festivals and share joy WITHOUT forcing people to participate."
Swara, known for her outspoken nature, has often been at the receiving end of online hate but continues to stand her ground against unnecessary criticism.
Swara Bhaskar and Fahad Ahmad's marriage
Swara and Fahad got married in February 2023 under the Special Marriage Act. They welcomed their first child, a daughter in the same year. The couple has often been targeted by trolls for their interfaith marriage. Fahad is a Samajwadi Party leader.
The couple hosted grand wedding celebrations, including a traditional haldi, mehendi, and qawwali night, reflecting their diverse backgrounds. Despite facing online negativity, they continue to share their joyous moments with fans on social media platforms.
Sonakshi Sinha also slams trolls
In another incident, actress Sonakshi Sinha, who married actor Zaheer Iqbal in 2024, also hit back at trolls who questioned the absence of Zaheer during Holi celebration.
To set the record straight, Sonakshi responded to the trolls by telling them to 'relax', explaining that while Zaheer was in Mumbai, she was busy shooting for her film. Adding a touch of humour, she wrote on Instagram, "Comments mein thoda relax karo… Zaheer Mumbai mein hai, aur mein shoot pe hu isiliye saath mein nahi hai…thanda paani dalo sar pe" - a lighthearted way to cool down the trolls.
