Days before Bharat went on floors, Priyanka Chopra had walked out of the film, leaving the team in a flurry. Soon enough the makers announced, Katrina joining the team. Even though Katrina has a good relationship with Salman Khan and Ali Abbas Zafar the actress in an interview said it was purely a professional decision.
Bharat will be the sixth collaboration between, Salman and Katrina. While talking about working with him over the years, she said, “We share a comfort level, which has developed over the years. He loves to entertain the audience. He is a simple person in real life, and he approaches his films the way he approaches life.”
She added, Salman Khan didn’t even call her after she signed the film but met her directly on the set. “Ali and I are good friends, but when it comes to work, we are completely honest with each other. I read the script from start to finish in three hours and immediately called him to tell him that I loved it. I realised there was an opportunity of going the extra mile with this character. So, it had nothing to do with my friendship with Salman or Ali. In fact, Salman did not even call me after I signed the film. We met directly on the set.”
Bharat, an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean drama ‘Ode To My Father’ and will see Salman Khan in different avatars. The makers have released two posters of the film featuring Salman’s two looks with Jackie Shroff and Disha Patani. The film is set for an Eid-release in June 2019.
