HUMARI ADHURI KAHANI has got slammed all over by critics and also all over the internet but Mahesh Bhatt is hardly the kind of person to take such criticism lightly, the filmmaker has gone all out to defend not only the film but also blast everyone on twitter for not knowing the subject well enough to be criticising it.
According to the filmmaker, all those who have called the film regressive have no idea what the real India is like truly, they have no idea that there is a world outside the bubble of the metropolitan city they live in and refusing to accept that is one of the biggest follies of social media in India.
“Within your own family you will find a diverse set of people, with diverse sensibilities some who might find a woman sticking to customs and traditions as regressive others who will completely understand and even relate to it, who is to say which thinking is correct when the fact remains that both of them exist in the same society,” quipped Mahesh Bhatt.
“It is easy to take on social media as a platform and write a film off, or criticise a filmmaker for having archaic thinking etc, but the fact is that films are a reflection of the society, if someone is a living in a bubble, and is refusing to accept that such a world exists it is their blinkered outlook that needs to change,” Bhatt blasted on, clearly there is no way the man will keep silent if he believes he can motivate someone else’s thinking.
