Irrfan Khan is a performer who never stops surprising his audience. In PIKU and TALVAR he bowled us over with his dashing performance and with MADAARI he will do it again. Directed by Nishikant Kamat, the film is based on a real life incident that resulted in people getting injured and it also led to losses of lives.
MADAARI is allegedly based on the real life event, taken place at the under-construction overhead Metro bridge on Andheri-Kurla Road in suburban Marol. And for this, the ace director has undertaken immense research for an extensive period of time for the movie. Irrfan Khan will be playing a vigilante in the movie. This film is supposed to be a hard-hitting social thriller which has a strong emotional connect. This will be the second time when Irrfan is working with Nishikant, the first time being the cult film MUMBAI MERI JAAN.
Speaking about Nishikant, Irrfan Khan said that he developed a deep bond with Nishikant when they were shooting for MUMBAI MERI JAAN, and that he had been eager to work with him again since then. That’s why when MADAARI was offered to him, he instantly agreed. On the other hand, Nishikant said that, after MUMBAI MERI JAAN, we had to wait for the right script to work with each other again. He added that, besides being a friend, Irrfan is an exemplary actor and that he has learnt a lot from him. Madaari has been shot across locations like Hyderabad, Jaisalmer, Mumbai, Shimla, Dehradun and Delhi.
While the trailer of the film will release next week, the film will release on June 10th, 2016.
