Salman Khan and controversies go hand-in hand. Almost all his recent movies have been hit by controversy and taking the tradition forward, Ali Abbas Zaffar’s Bharat may face legal tussle for pitching gym equipment inside Humayun’s Tomb where the cast was recently shooting.
Apparently an important sequence of Bharat was shot recently at the tomb where more than 200 crew filmed a sequence from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. While the makers did have all the required permission for the shoot, it seems that they didn’t take a prior permission before pitching an open air gym at the garden complex of the tomb of Isa Khan.
This has made the historians worried as they fear of damage to the historic property. A senior ASI official while talking to Indian Express said, “Permission for cycling and pitching gym equipment was ‘possibly’ not given… we will get a report from the in-charge to see if any violations took place.”
Historian Sohail Hashmi, who was present at the complex at the time, told The Indian Express, “If a gym has to be set up, go to a park… this is a heritage structure which can be damaged. Today, a huge crowd gathered as Salman Khan cycled on the path. There wasn’t enough police to control them. They don’t easily allow a gathering of poets and musicians…”
Only time will tell if the film will hit the troubled waters for violating the above rule. Bharat is slated to release on 2019 Eid.
