About two years ago Manjari enjoyed her back to back releases. ‘Warning’ wasn’t a catch theatriclly, her rollicking affair in ‘Grand Masti’ turned out to be a part of the 100 crore club. Now, Ms. Fadnis will be seen in ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ along Kapil Sharma as one of the three wives.
Two years seem like some break for sure. Where were you all this while?
I was working on my other Hindi film Wah Taj which is ready for release. We are just waiting for the right date to make an announcement. Then I started working on Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon and while it was on, I also started shooting for a Marathi film. Meanwhile, I also did a single with Raghav Sachar. So yes, I have been engaged all throughout and now the films will release one after another.
You have a good flair for comedy, as was seen in Grand Masti. Since Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon needs different kind of comedy, how was the transition for you?
Well, as you must have gathered the gist of the film’s script from the promos, the circumstances in there are not out of choice but unavoidable circumstances. The film is a complete comedy of errors which gives me ample scope to perform. It is very funny as there is always a little thrill in the middle of things. Just look at the film’s plot. Kapil has three wives in the same building whom he hopes would never bump into each other. Then there is a girlfriend too. It is super fun all the way.
Meanwhile, Kapil has an impeccable comic timing too.
In my opinion, it is awesome to have co-stars like Kapil who are so much into improvisations. That makes you alert as an actor and react accordingly. The reactions need to be instant. When I was training myself for acting, we had classes for improvisations and things like that. They came very helpful with Kapil.
On the other hand Abbas-Mustan, who are known for their thrillers, are directing a comedy for the first time.
Of course they are more famous for their thrillers but then you must have noticed, even in their thrillers they bring in comedy. As a matter of fact, even Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon has thrills, albeit of a different kind, whenever the three wives are at risk of bumping into each other. I guess directing a comedy is very difficult and Abbas-Mustan are fabulous in their comic sequences.
