Bollywood’s talented actor Varun Dhawan, who has earlier featured in comical and romantic roles, is essaying a rugged looking and aggressive character in ‘Badlapur’. So when the actor was appreciated for his look and asked about it, Varun revealed that it was not easy for him to get into the skin of the character. “I suffered a lot while doing this film. I can’t say that I enjoyed doing the film,” Varun said at the teaser launch of the film on Tuesday.
However, looks like Varun is happy seeing the outcome. He is playing a dark character in the film and has in the past featured in films including ‘Student Of The Year’, ‘Main Tera Hero’ and ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’. Talking about it, Varun said, “Whenever I see the film’s teaser and I realise that I got to work with a wonderful actor like Nawazuddin Siddiqui, I get emotional. It’s a very emotional experience for me.”
‘Badlapur’ is a revenge drama and also stars actors Divya Dutta, Yami Gautam, Radhika Apte and Vinay Pathak. Varun would be seen sharing the screen for the first time with Nawazuddin and Huma in the film, which will release early next year.
Meanwhile, buzz is that Varun’s look in the movie has been inspired from his brother Rohit. This was shared by Varun himself as he brushed aside a comparison between his ‘Badlapur’ look and that of Shahid Kapoor in ‘Haider’! “It has no resemblance to Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Haider’. Shahid played a boy from Kashmir in HAIDER and I am playing an ad executive from Maharashtra in ‘Badlapur’,” the 27-year-old actor said.
“Vikram dada, who is a National Award winner, has constructed this look along with other artists. So genuinely there is no reference for this look, except my brother Rohit Dhawan’s bearded look,” he added.
