After a long wait comedian Kapil Sharma is back on the television with his second season of The Kapil Sharma Show. However, there were reports that Kapil took a huge pay cut for the second season of the show which is backed by Salman Khan. The exact figures are not known but reports have claimed that Kapil charged Rs 60-70 lakh for each weekend episode of the show in its first season. It was also said that he now earns Rs 15-20 lakh per episode during weekends. Reportedly, Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek, who are other big names in the world of television stand-up comedy, also get somewhere around Rs 10- 12 lakh per weekend episode.
However, Krushna Abhishek has now refuted all the rumours about Kapil taking a pay-cut. Speaking to Bollywoodlife.com, he told that Salman is a very generous producer. He said, “These pay cut rumours are false. We are getting our stipulated amount. We are extremely happy working together. Anyways, money is secondary. No one can beat the fact that The Kapil Sharma Show is the biggest comedy show in the country.”
Reports even suggests that the second season is not getting same warmth and appreciation from the audience just like first season.
Answering the same, a source from the channel told the publication, “Only time will tell if the second season is a success. We are getting enough and more sponsorship for the show till now. The response on social media was also good. The producers are not cutting costs at any levels. The success or failure will be evident after we get the first TRPs.”
