Lyricist Javed Akhtar and composer-singer Hariharan are working together to bring out the theme song of the 35th National Games, starting January 31, 2015, says IANS.

Akhtar has penned the lyrics for the three-minute signature song in Hindi, while Hariharan has composed the music for it. The organisers are planning to launch the theme song in a big way.

“It will take another three weeks more for the song to be ready and we are planning to have the launch in Delhi,” said an official who did not wish to be identified.

The song highlights the sportsman spirit. Apart from the song, jingles will also be used as fillers and would be released across the country on FM Radios. “A promo film on the event is being worked out and the theme song would be played in the background,” said the official.

Yesudas, Shreya Ghosal, Salim Merchant, Shruthi Haasan and Hariharan have song the song, said a press statement.
