The team of ‘Bombay Velvet’ came together to launch the second trailer of the film and oh my, it was grand. The trailer has garnered a lot of appreciation and people have been anticipating the release of the film, not just now but from the minute ‘Bombay Velvet’ was conceptualised.
Present at the event were Anurag Kashyap who took up hosting for the event, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, Madhu Mantena, Vijay Singh of Fox Star, Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Karan Johar, Manish Choudhary, K K Menon and Satyadeep Misra.
The second trailer of the film has taken the intrigue around the film to another level and to make the night all the more grand, the entire team was at their best humour…Karan and RK leading the line. KJO and RK were busy joking about each other in front of everyone and later our lovely KJO also pointed out that he is so cheap that he agreed to work for the film in meagre Rs.11. Mister and his wits, what to say… the cast and the crew did have everyone in splits by the end of the launch.
Also, talking about the film, we know that Kashyap’s period drama is set in Bombay of the 60’s and he has recreated Bombay of that period. They needed Bombay to look like it did in the 60’s, so they recreated the entire city. It was a huge task replicating the city and they left no stone unturned.
The set of the film was constructed in Sri Lanka and the team recreated Bombay in an area of 9.5 acres there. The team also spent 11 months constructing the set and the entire set was built from scratch. From buildings to the interiors of the buildings, everything was designed, created and built from scratch.
While they laid the foundations of buildings and laid out roads for the set, they even looked into minute details and like signage and interiors and décor. The team of Bombay Velvet went to great lengths to replicate Bombay of the 1960’s and Anurag has made sure that everything is in sync with that era. Ah!
As we hear more and more about the making of the film, our excitement just keeps a notch higher than it was the last time. Mr. Kashyap, we are very very excited for your first full blown project… From being the poster boy of Indie Cinema to this, it surely screams Victory all the way.
