Anupamaa actor Jatin Suri, who plays the role of Raja, has been involved in a controversy. Recently, it was reported that Jatin was detained by police after his girlfriend arrived on sets of Anupamaa and accused him of blackmailing her.
According to a report in India Forums, Jatin was taken to a police station after a confrontation involving his girlfriend at the filming location. Sources present on set stated that his girlfriend arrived unexpectedly and accused him of blackmailing her.
The situation escalated quickly, prompting her to call the police, who then visited the set to intervene.
Following the disturbance, both Jatin and the woman were escorted to the local police station for further questioning.
The report further stated that Jatin initially denied the allegations, labeling the news as inaccurate. As of now, neither the production house nor the broadcasting channel, Star Plus, has issued an official statement on the matter. There is also no confirmation regarding any formal legal action or charges filed. The matter is currently believed to be under investigation.
However, the production team is reportedly continuing with regular shooting schedules, attempting to minimise disruption.
Jatin previously appeared in shows such as Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani (2015) and Saubhagyavati Bhava: Niyam Aur Shartein Laagu (2023). His recent role in Anupamaa as Raja added new tension and complexity to the ongoing plot, contributing to the show's continued popularity.
