July 13, 2001 saw the release of the Anubhav Sinha directed musical film Tum Bin, that went onto become a surprise hit of that year. Circa 2016, and we have Anubhav Sinha all set with Tum Bin 2. While the original film starred Priyanshu Chatterjee, Himanshu Malik, Rakesh Vashisth and Sandali Sinha, its sequel will have Aditya Seal, Neha Sharma and Aashim Gulati as the lead stars. Anubhav Sinha, besides being the film’s writer and director, will also be seen jointly producing the film with T Series’ Bhushan Kumar.
Speaking about the film, Anubhav Sinha said that they decided on the said starcast after having seen 1500 screen tests. He added that none of the original cast (Priyanshu Chatterjee, Himanshu Malik, Raqesh Vashisth or Sandali Sinha) would be seen Tum Bin 2. He also clarified that Tum Bin 2 is not a sequel and that they are planning to wrap up by May-end, followed by the film’s post-production. Posting an image developed by his first AD, Puneet Malik on FaceBook Sinha added, “Three Stars of tomorrow and a journey that Bhushan and I started 15 years back. Bless Us All. #TumBin2”.
Tum Bin 2 will see the debut of Ankur Tiwari as a music composer. Anubhav Sinha said that besides the music, Ankur Tiwari would also be singing some of the tracks himself.
While Tum Bin 2 is all set to roll in Glasgow on April 4, it will be filmed in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
