With Simmba, which is a remake of Telugu film Temper, all set to release this week, we list down six upcoming Bollywood remakes which will release in the year 2019. From Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh, which is the remake of Telugu film, Arjun Reddy, to Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Kizie Aur Manny, which is an official remake of Hollywood film, ‘The Fault in our stars’, 2019 has some interesting line up of Bollywood remakes. Kabir Singh: Remake of Arjun Reddy
Kabir Singh is an upcoming Bollywood film written and directed by Sandeep Vanga. The film is a remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, which was also directed by Sandeep Vanga. The film focuses on Arjun Reddy’s downfall and subsequent resurgence. He is a high-functioning alcoholic surgeon who has anger management problems. On one hand, while Shahid Kapoor will step into the shoes of Vijay Deverakonda, Kiara Advani has been roped in to play the love interest of the former.
Kizie Aur Manny: Remake of The Fault in Our Stars
Kizie Aur Manny is an upcoming romantic tragicomedy film directed by Mukesh Chhabra. It is based on the 2014 Hollywood film The Fault in Our Stars, which was actually based on John Green’s 2012 novel of the same name. While the Hollywood film starred Ansel Elgort and Shailene Woodley in the lead roles, the Bollywood remake stars Sushant Singh Rajput and newbie Sanjana Sanghi. The Fault in Our Stars is a story of a sixteen-year-old cancer patient girl, who is forced by her parents to attend a support group, where she meets and subsequently falls in love with a boy, another cancer patient.
Kartik Aaryan and Jacqueline Fernandez in Kirik Party remake
Kirik Party is the story of a gang of mischievous students, led by the protagonist who has just joined an engineering college. The progression of this gang from being a bunch of mischief makers to responsible adults is the theme of Kirik Party. While the Bollywood remake still is untitled, it will star Kartik Aaryan and Jacqueline Fernandez, who will step into the shoes of Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna respectively. The Kartik and Jacqueline starrer will be directed by National Award winner Abhishek Jain.
Tiger Shroff in the remake of Sylvester Stallone starrer Rambo
Tiger Shroff will star in Rambo – an official remake of Sylvester Stallone’s hit movie by the same name. The movie will be directed by Siddharth Anand. Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo was the fourth installment in the Rambo film series. Stallone’s film was dedicated to Richard Crenna, who played Colonel Sam Trautman in the previous films, and who died of heart failure in 2003. While Tiger steps into the shoes of Sylvester, the Hollywood actor shared his concern about the makers of Tiger starrer wrecking the original film.
Aishwarya Rai to star in the remake of Nargis Dutt starrer Raat Aur Din
Raat Aur Din is a 1967 Psychological Bollywood film which starred veteran actress Nargis Dutt, who even won the prestigious National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the same film. Nargis’ character Varuna is a married woman has dissociative identity disorder. By day, she is a typical Hindi homemaker, whilst at night she calls herself Peggy and walks the streets of Calcutta. The remake of this film has been offered to Aishwarya Rai who has also confirmed the news. However, Ash has still not signed the dotted lines.
Aayush Sharma to star in the remake of Marathi film Mulshi Pattern
Marathi film, Mulshi Pattern tackles some of the raging issues of our times. The film lays bare the deep flaws of the system which turns the farmer into a criminal and a social outcast. Salman Khan has already bought the rights of the Bollywood remake of this Marathi film which will star Aayush Sharma.
