He has had a fabulous 2014, and the first half of 2015 has gone in collecting awards on virtually every award function held thus far… He is Shahid Kapoor, the man who everyone seems to be watching and the man who is celebrating his birthday today! Here are some lesser known facts about the man…
1 A complete vegetarian, Shahid aptly won the title of the sexiest vegetarian some years ago! Though, his friends are not exactly too thrilled with the title, apparently eating out with him becomes a big problem because he has to ensure that his food is 100 per cent, vegetarian.
2Shahid despite being the son of Pankaj Kapoor and Neelima Azim, never once used his parentage to secure his position in the industry. In fact, people close to him say that he looked upon Shiamak Davar, his dance guru as a mentor more than he asked opinions at home. If you think that amounts to strains at home, you are far from right. Shahid has a wonderful relationship with both his parents and their families. For a while, Pankaj and Shahid were very close-by and his step-mother, Supriya often had him over for big family meals. Shahid’s step-brother, from his mother’s other husband, Ishaan is like Shahid’s shadow. The two are completely inseparable when together.
3Shahid’s best buddy is no one from the industry but his school friend Sriram. Though currently, his friend is living in Bangalore, the two still have each other’s back when need be. If Shahid ever needs any advice he prefers to call his Bangalore buddy over anyone in the industry.
4Shahid is not too much of a reader, and is extremely particular about the kind of books he picks up. If you ask him what he prefers to read, his pat reply is ‘A good script!’
5Apparently, Shahid Kapoor is stung by the photography bug. The actor is extremely keen on photography and is often heard grilling the technicians on the sets about details. The actor who is a self-confessed nature enthusiast, loves to click the sun rise and the sun set. He is extremely fond of the hues the skies make during dusk and dawn.
6Shahid might have shot to fame with his immaculate dancing but most of the films for which he has had critical acclaim have seen him dancing very little, if at all. Be it his first big success, ‘Vivaah’, or the superhit film of his career ‘Jab We Met’ or any of his Vishal Bharadwaj ventures. Though, Shahid had a solo dance in ‘Haider’, apparently, Bharadwaj insisted he didn’t look like a suave dancer, instead look awkward even.
