With a noteworthy pre-placement offer (PPO) for one of its students, IITs has grabbed the eyeballs once again. The IITs - already known as the 'golden ticket' because of the lucrative salaries offered to its students has once again made headlines. The top offer of current placement season at IIT Madras is said to be an annual package of Rs 4.3 crore from global high-frequency trading company Jane Street to a student for the quantitative trade position situated in Hong Kong. This offer includes relocation, bonus, and pay.
According to a report by Economic Times, the offer is made to a computer science and engineering student from IIT Madras. The student has also reportedly interned with the firm before. He has received the top offer from Jane Street via the pre-placement offer (PPO) procedure.
Other exciting offers
The report further talked about the placement season at old IITs this year, stating that students have been offered packages worth more than Rs 2 crore by BlackRock, Glean, and Da Vinci. While, Ebullient Securities and IMC Trading have made offers beyond Rs 1.3 crore, other companies such as APT Portfolio and Rubrik have made offers exceeding Rs 1.4 crore.
The placement season began with companies such as Qualcomm, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Bajaj Auto, Ola Electric, Alphonso, and Nutanix.
