CBSE To Introduce Bi-Annual Board Exams And Global Curriculum for Foreign Schools Soon

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are planning to conduct 'CBSE Board exams twice a year' from next academic year 2026-2027.

CBSE Board Exams 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan are planning to conduct 'CBSE Board exams twice a year' from next academic year 2026-2027.

This initiative is taken to create a stress-free learning environment for students and it will be a vital move towards executing vital NEP rules, which will enable children to reduce exam-related stress. The board will soon release a draft scheme of these deliberations for public consultation by CBSE.

Now, creating a safe environment for students has become an important focus of the government.

"Taking this a step forward, held detailed deliberations with the Secretary of School Education, CBSE Chairperson and other officials of the Ministry and CBSE over 'Conduct of CBSE examinations twice a year'. The draft schema of these deliberations will be placed soon for public consultation by CBSE," Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan tweeted on X.

Last year, the Ministry of Education announced plans to hold biannual board exams in an attempt to reduce stress and provide students with more possibilities.

CBSE Board Exams 2026: Global Curriculum for Foreign Schools

Meanwhile, Pradhan had one more decision with the external affairs ministry, the Department of School Education, CBSE officials and heads of the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) regarding the takeoff of a global curriculum for foreign students starting from the 2026-2027 academic year.

"Today the Hon'ble Minister of Education, Sh. Dharmendra Pradhan, chaired a high-level meeting with Secretary, DoSEL, Secretary ER, MEA, heads of CBSE, NCERT, KVS, NVS along with representatives of global schools," CBSE posted on its official X handle.

"The modalities of establishing and implementing the CBSE Global Curriculum were discussed in detail and CBSE was directed to launch CBSE Global Curriculum for Foreign Schools from 2026-2027 and to prepare a detailed action plan accordingly," the tweet further added.

CBSE Board Exams 2025

Currently, class 10 and 12 CBSE board exams are going on. Till now, class 10th students already appeared for their English exam and now preparing for Science. Meanwhile, class 12th students are done with their Physical Education exam and will soon appear for the Science and other examinations.
