As part of a fresh initiative to foster the overall development of students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has instructed all its affiliated schools to incorporate daily positive affirmations into their morning assemblies from the academic session 2025–26 onwards.

Why Positive Affirmations?

CBSE emphasises that positive affirmations brief, strong statements of self-worth and optimism can also considerably enhance students' mental health, concentration, and emotional resilience. - Enhance emotional regulation and self-reflection

- Assist students in starting their day with calmness, clarity, and confidence

Sample Affirmations Recommended

A few example affirmations offered by CBSE are:

- I am always happy.

- I am calm and stable in every situation.

- I use gadgets only for studying.

- My memory and concentration are excellent.

- I respect everyone. I respect nature.

School Implementation Guidelines

To ensure the easy incorporation of this initiative, CBSE has made the following suggestions:

- Schools can incorporate 1–2 short affirmations every morning during assembly.

- Affirmations must be age-specific, inclusive, and value-based like empathy, courage, and self-worth.

- Schools are requested to engage students in reciting or even creating affirmations.

- Institutions can have the freedom to modify the format to suit their current assembly format.

- Affirmations can be posted in classrooms or on bulletin boards as part of value education initiatives.

- Schools can opt to use the local or preferred language depending on their student population.

A Step Toward Emotional Empowerment

With this step, CBSE hopes to look beyond books, developing emotionally strong and confident citizens who are ready to make a positive contribution to society.
