Actor Vindu Dara Singh is currently seen in the film Forensic which released on an OTT platform on June 24. The movie, directed by Vishal Furia, stars Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte in the lead roles. The Free Press Journal caught up with Vindu for an exclusive interaction.

Vindu has essayed the role of a cop in the psychological thriller. Opening up about his overall experience of working on Forensic, he says, "When the producers (Mansi Bagla and Deepak Mukut) and director Vishal are so good, you don't have to worry about anything. It was a wonderful experience. For 30-35 days, we were shooting in Mussoorie, and it was just amazing and beautiful. The memories will stay with me forever. The people of Mussoorie gave us a lot of love, and the government of Uttarakhand also supported our film. Vishal would keep telling me, 'Sir, jab aap set pe hote ho ek alag hi energy hoti hai'. So we enjoyed the shoot."

Talking about his role, Vindu shares, "I have played the role of a police officer several times, but this was simple, humble, and you can say a goofy little cop. In Forensic, I just had to be myself with a little bit of an accent. Vishal directed it wonderfully. Also, when you are in the company of excellent actors, this is the kind of product that comes out," he avers.

Vindu is all praise for Radhika and Vikrant. "I worked with him 17 years ago, but unfortunately, that project never got released. Vikrant was a fun-loving and energetic kid, and even now, he's the same. He has got the same charisma and so much talent. The same goes for Radhika. She is super talented. She stays a little aloof and doesn't like to mix too much, but she's very sweet. She has done such a marvellous job. I don't think anyone could have done better," he gushes.

The 58-year-old actor believes that Forensic would have been a blockbuster if it had gotten a theatrical release. "The film could have easily earned Rs 100 crores if it had been released in theatres. It would have been a blockbuster. It would have been Radhika and Vikrant's superhit film in theatres. But everyone is watching the film and loving it, even on OTT. We are getting the love, but if you would have watched the film on the big screens, then you would have loved it more because of the scenic beauty of Mussoorie and the spectacular camerawork," he avers.

Vindu has been a part of the entertainment industry for several decades. Looking back at his journey, he recalls that he does not have any regrets. "It has been a wonderful journey and I can't remember how much work I've done. I have worked in Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Bhojpuri and Gujarati industries also. I don't know how many movies and shows I have done. I don't think there has been any part of my life when I didn't have work, so that is nearly 50 years in the film industry and always with work. I'm blessed. I think in the industry it also matters what kind of a person you are. If you are a good person, people love to work with you and I have been repeated by producers. I will be acting till my last breath, till I die. I don't think about yesterday. It is gone, dead and buried. Whatever has happened, it was destined. I gave my best and what was not in my fate didn't come to me. You are getting love from each and everybody aur isse zyada insaan ko kya chahiye."

Vindu's son Fateh is also inclined towards acting. "My son will be a huge superstar. Just wait for him this year, and you will come to know. For the last several years, he has been learning acting, dance and action. If I had done so much hard work, I would have been a superstar," he concludes.
