Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passed away in the wee hours of Friday, leaving the entire industry shell-shocked.
Not many know but the filmmaker, who has some of the most popular films like 'Parineeta' and 'Mardaani' to his credit, was to direct Kangana Ranaut in his next, titled 'Noti Binodini'.
Remembering the time spent with Sarkar, Kangana shared a video of her last meal with the director and penned a heartbreaking note for him.

Kangana took to her Twitter handle to share a video of what she said was her last meal with Sarkar.
She wrote that the filmmaker knew how fond she was fond of Bengali food and hence, he got her a spread when they had caught up for 'Noti Binodini' prep.
"Last meal I had with Pradeep dada, he knew I love Bengali food, this was during Noti Binodini prep meet, that’s his hand in the first frame… Such a terrible news, we were to meet as soon I got to Mumbai…My heart is sinking and I won’t be able to cope with this shocking news," Kangana wrote.
Pradeep Sarkar's death
Pradeep Sarkar had reportedly caught a fever recently and the infection attacked his lungs due to which the director was diagnoses with pneumonia.
His health deteriorated late in the night and he was rushed to the hospital at 3 am. However, he could not be saved and he breathed his last at around 3:30 am.
Apart from 'Parineeta' and 'Mardaani', Sarkar had directed films like Lafangey Parindey', 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', and others. He had also directed the web series titled 'Duranga' in 2022.
Not just that, but Sarkar also served as the editor for the Sanjay Dutt-starrer 'Munna Bhai MBBS'.
