Director Om Raut made the film with the dream of bringing the story of Ramayana to the silver screen but ever since the first teaser of Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan and Kriti Sanon-starrer 'Adipurush' dropped recently, there has been a unanimously negative response from various quarters.

People have largely been disappointed due to the film's poor VFX and the unrealistic look of various characters. Not to mention, politicians and veteran actors have also slammed the makers for the same.

Now, an animation studio has accused the makers of the ‘Adipurush’ poster of plagiarism.

The poster featuring Prabhas shows him as Lord Ram holding a bow and arrow, while the one by Vaanar Sena Studios features Lord Shiva,

The animation studio shared a post with the text "Looks like makers inspired Adipurush first look poster from Lord Shiva still."

Their caption read, "Such a shame, T- Series should mention the original creator, who developed the artwork @vaanarsenastudios."

The makers of 'Adipurush', which has been directed by Om Raut, have spent a fortune on the visual effects. The film has reportedly been made on a budget of over INR 400 crores, most of which has been spent on the VFX but, it seems like the output is far from what the audience was expecting.

Director Raut said he is "disheartened" by the reaction to the teaser. "I was disheartened but not surprised because the film is made for a larger medium. You can cut it down to some extent, but can't bring it down to a mobile phone, that's an environment I can't control.

"If given a choice, I had never put it on YouTube but that's the need of the hour. We need to put it there so that it reaches a wide audience," Raut told reporters at the media preview of the film's 3D trailer on Tuesday.

'Adipurush' has been produced by T Series and Retrophiles. It is slated to hit the theatres on January 12, 2023, in IMAX and 3D. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Om, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair, the film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
