Bhopal: A 21-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by jumping off a building in old Galla Mandi on Thursday at Jahangirabad locality here. In the initial investigations police suspect that it was a matter of love affair as ‘I love you Reena’ was written on his left hand with blade, police said.
According to police, the deceased, Ravi Jaiswal, hailing from Rajgarh district, was living in a rented accommodation near Lilly Talkies with one of his friend named Ashok Malviya. He was a student of BSc in city-based Government Science and Commerce College, popularly known as Benazir College. On Wednesday night at around 11.30 pm, deceased after having his dinner told his roommate Malviya that he is going out for some time. Malviya believed him as Jaiswal often used to go out in the night after having dinner to places of other friends and come back in the wee hours.
On Thursday, Jaiswal didn’t return in the morning. At around 6 am, his roommate Jaiswal received a call from a stranger on his mobile that Jaiswal has met with an accident near old Galla Mandi building in Jahangirabad locality. After getting the call he went there only to see him lying dead on the ground, police added.
“The police were informed by a security guard working near the spot after which it soon reached there. The police after reaching the spot found also found his two mobile phones lying there. In the prima-facie investigations it found ‘I love you Reena’ etched on his left hand which suggests that the reason behind his suicide was a love affair. The police after recovering his body sent it for post-mortem examinations and informed his family members who arrived after few hours,” said investigating officer, assistant sub-inspector, Jaiprakash Singh, adding that till now a matter has been registered under SECTION 174 of CrPC.
