BHOPAL : Association of Technical Professional Institutes (ATPI), MP, has suggested that smart Bhopal should be IT and Logistics Hub.
The suggestion was given at a workshop on Smart city at Motel Shiraj on Tuesday. Mayor Alok Sharma, BJP state vice president Vijesh Lunawat, Shailendra Sharma and others were also present.
ATPI’s KC Jain said, “Keeping the number of technical institutes in the city in mind, it will be better to transform Bhopal into IT hub. Secondly, there must be provision of solar energy utilisation, proper drainage system and systematic hawkers’ corner.
We are ready to make a power point presentation on this issue. We will also give suggestion through essay contest.”
Swapnil Rai said, “There are 105 engineering colleges in the city. It is our strength. There must be employment for such qualified engineers.”
Aditya Malhotra said, “e-rickshaw should be operated. Sewage system should be streamlined. Encroachment should be removed.” Sudhir Bansal said, “There must be IT hub and Logistic hub in the smart city.”
BMC commissioner Tejaswi Naik said, “We should avail the talent of our students while transforming Bhopal into smart city.
Their talent should be utilised for development of the city. We should generate more employment for them. Otherwise they would give their service to other cities or foreign countries.”
Mayor Alok Sharma said, “It is challenging for us to get Bhopal selected in top 20 cities to be transformed in first phase.”
