BHOPAL : The spell of biting cold is likely to make a comeback in Madhya Pradesh in the next couple of days. There was sharp drop in day as well as night temperatures in the state capital as well as Chambal division on Saturday. The temperature remained much above normal during the last fortnight. Now the temperature has started reducing all over the state.
A drop of 3° Celsius was recorded in day the temperature in the state capital while it dropped by 4°C during the night. A further decline of 2 to 3°C is likely in Bhopal. Pachmarhi recorded 6.5°C which was the lowest minimum temperature in the state, while the second lowest minimum temperature of 8°C was recorded at Rewa.
Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 25.5°C which was normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 11.8°C which was 1°C above normal. On Friday, the temperature in the day was 28.8°C and the night temperature was 15.8°C. The day temperature dropped by three degree Celsius and the night temperature plunged by four degree Celsius.
Gwalior recorded a maximum temperature of 25.5°C which was 3°C above normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 9.6°C which was 3°C above normal. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 27°C which was normal while it recorded a minimum temperature of 11.2°C which was 1°C above normal.
As per the meteorological department, generally dry air condition would continue to prevail over the state. Shallow to moderate fog is likely at isolated places over Chambal division, Gwalior, Datia, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur, Panna, Satna and Rewa districts.
Director Meteorological department Dr Anupam Kashyapi said, “Wind pattern is changing and at present the pattern is north-west which is going to turn complete northern in the next couple of days. A further drop of two to three degree Celsius is likely.”
