BHOPAL : Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) has alleged that the government for consistently ignoring farmers. BKS convened a convention at Samanvay Bhawan on Wednesday. BKS has declared that if demands are not taken for consideration, it will launch mass agitation in the days to come.
Central Managing Committee of BKS member Suresh Gurjar said, “PM Narendra Modi convenes meeting of businessmen at his residence but never calls the farmers to discuss their problems. We will not tolerate such kind of attitude of the government.”
“Earlier we used to put up long lists of demands but now we have changed the tactics. This time we have put up only two demands-one from central government and other from state government,” he added.
BKS leader Gurjar said, “We have demanded that the input costs should be recovered. We never demanded crop insurance but government fooled us by assuring crop insurance. We simply want the cost of crops which we cultivate.”
Gujar said, “Similarly, we have demanded from state government to earmark revenue and administration officials to be available to redress the grievances of farmers. “
