BHOPAL: A woman from Uzbekistan, arrested by the Misrod police on Wednesday, was sent to jail on Thursday. She had been living in the country for the last six months without a valid Visa. She had contacted SP, police headquarters, Anil Maheshwari on Wednesday through a local contact in order to get a valid Visa. A case was registered against her under the sections of The Foreigners Act, 1946.
TI, Misrod police station, Kuvar Singh Mukati said that the accused has been identified as Varon, 35, a resident of Uzbekistan. In her statements to the police she stated that she had come to Nepal on a Visa which was valid for six months. But after the earthquake hit Nepal she entered India around six months ago without getting requisite documents.
She lived in various cities of the country including Delhi and came to the city a couple of days back.
She came into contact with Vishwas Sarkar, resident of Jatkhedi Misrod, who assured to help her in getting Visa and contacted the special branch of
police. Varon along with Vishwas met SP Maheshwari on Wednesday following which Maheshwari instructed the Misrod police to register a case against her.
The Misrod police registered a case against her and produced her before the court on Thursday from where she was sent to jail.
