BHOPAL : Two youths drowned into Sankal Dam in Noronha village within the limits of Bilkhiria police station on Sunday evening. Another youth was rescued by the police divers who reached the spot on getting the information.
TI, Bilkhiria, Sandhya Mishra talking to Free Press said that a group of 4-5 friends had gone for a picnic at Sankal dam in Noronha village on Sunday evening. The deceased have been identified as Sohail and Ikram, aged around 20-25 years, while one of their friends Izhar was rescued by the divers. All the youths were the residents of Foota Maqbara, Chhola area within the limits of Hanumanganj police station.
TI Mishra said that three out of the five friends had no knowledge of swimming. Despite the fact they jumped into the dam water for taking a bath. The friends who knew swimming warned them not to enter waters.
While bathing three of the friends slipped into deep waters out of which one was saved while two died. Subsequently police fished out their bodies and sent them for post-mortem examinations.
