BHOPAL: Three members of a family were killed on the spot after a sand-laden truck rammed into a roadside house at Rujan Khedi village under Narsrullaganj police station on Bhopal-Indore Highway on Friday morning. The driver managed to flee from the spot. No one has staked claim on sand.
Savan Singh, 45, his wife Savita Bai and his daughter Prarthana, 14, were killed. Priyanshu and Deepanshu are injured and they are undergoing treatment in hospital.
In the accident, truck diver, in an attempt to save an animal which was crossing the road, lost the balance and consequently, truck rammed into road side hut.
As per the police, sand laden truck bearing registeration number MP-09-GE-0802 rammed into a hut like residence at 4:00AM. Three members of a family were killed on the spot while two other were injured. Savan Singh, 45, his wife Savita Bai and his daughter Prarthana, 14, were killed. Priyanshu and Deepanshu are injured and they are undergoing treatment in hospital.
District administration had seized 80 trucks on ground of illegal mining from Chhipaner (Narmada ghat) a couple of days ago.
Sehore Collector Sudam Pandrinath Khade, while talking to Free Press, said, “Three of the same family died in the accident. It is a case of illegal mining. District administration is taking all necessary steps to check the illegal mining. We have already taken the steps to nail illegal mining in the district.”
