BHOPAL : The Jehangirabad police on Saturday night nabbed three members of a vehicle-lifters’ gang. They were also wanted in loot cases.
According to police sources, Kamal Singh, 34m resident of Baan Ganga area under TT Nagar police station, Shyam Namdev, 28, of Shiv Nagar under Chhola police station, and Shaitan, 24 from Shankar Nagar were arrested on Saturday night.
Police said that all three of them are wanted by Bhopal and Raisen polices in a case of loot by throwing chilly powder in a cop’s eyes on January 9, with some other cases of loot and vehicle lifting from separate areas. A bike was stolen from Nishatpura area in January 8, one bike from Kotwali area on December 9, another bike from Jehangirabad on December 4, one bike from Apsara Complex on December 11 and an Activa scooter from Karond on November of 11. Police said that a loot case was also registered by Abhishek Jain against them in Mandideep area.
The gang looted Rs 2000 and two mobile phones from him near HEG plant parking area on January 10. During interrogation Kamal confessed committing the loot with Jain. Police have recovered all four stolen bikes, Activa, along with a knife and Rs 2,000.
Kamal has more than 18 cases registered against him on police record; while Shayam has 9 and Shaitan has 5 cases against him in the Bhopal police records.
