BHOPAL : A shirt button recovered from crime spot, landed a PDS shop employee in police trap for killing a mechanic.
Chola Mandir police nabbed a 35-year-old PDS shop employee for killing a 30-year-old man who was murdered on December 5, 2016 near Chola Oil Depot . The man was killed after he refused sell his motorbike to the accused.
According to the police, Shekhar Lodhi was nabbed for stabbing the deceased Manjeet Ahirwar in December last year. In the initial investigation the police could not narrow down on the accused but in the later investigations based on the evidences, the accused was detained. On interrogation, the accused confessed.
The accused told the police that on the day of the murder he spotted the deceased alone. He chased him and stopped him near Hari Mazar area and asked the victim to sell his motorbike but the deceased refused to sell the bike. His refusal irked the accused. Enraged over the refusal the accused attacked with a sharp edged weapon. After injuring the deceased he again asked for selling the bike but the deceased remained firm and warned him that he would not sell the bike and report the incident to police but before he could inform police the accused stabbed him to death.
During the investigation police had recovered a shirt button from the spot which was of shirt of accused and when he was interrogated he confessed his crime.
Police said that the accused has been booked for 11 crimes in the past and was released recently on bail. The accused used to work with a Fair Price Shop(FPS) while the victim used to work as mechanic.
