Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): Sehore district is all set for urban body election to be carried out in two phases and voting for the first phase of civic body polls would be held on July 6.
The voting would start from 7 am to 5pm and about 83,632 voters including 42,569 and 41,057 and 6 transgender would cast their vote using EVM machines.
According to the information received from the election office, in the first phase, 106 polling stations have been set up in 35 wards of Sehore municipality. To conduct peaceful elections at these polling stations, 117 polling teams have been formed. In which duty of 468 polling personnel has been imposed. 149 candidates will contest for the post of councillor from all 35 wards of Sehore.
Collector and District Election Officer Chandra Mohan Thakur has made an appeal to all the voters of Sehore to vote freely and impartially without any fear. He said that in a democracy the vote of every individual is important. To play their active part in this festival of democracy, all voters must exercise their franchise.
